The Review Process

Based on the principle of stakeholders' participation and ownership, the Committee has employed several methodologies in the conduct of the Review of the PSS. These include (1) interviews with heads, former heads, and other officials of major statistical agencies; (2) consultations with stakeholders through focus group discussions to be held in various points in the country; (3) visits to the national and regional offices of statistical agencies, as well as some selected LGUs; (4) gathering and review of relevant background materials and documents including those pertaining to best practices in statistics among several UN member countries, organizational and technical information on the statistical agencies, process of estimating national and sectoral statistics; (5) development of a website to facilitate the circulation of information; and, (6) a special session with experts on the national income accounts.
