The Accounting and
Control/Finance Division of the Department handles the financial management and accounting
and control activities of the Institute.
The Finance division attends to the investment of the investible funds of the Institute in
accordance with applicable national rules and regulations and the policies and guidelines
prescribed by the Board. It takes charge of the preparation of the annual operating budget
of the Institute, budget execution, including the preparation and execution of the
financial and work plan. It also handles the cashiering operations.
The Accounting and Control Division, on the other hand, provides technical assistance and
support to the financial requirements and operations of the various research projects,
conducts periodic review and evaluation of programs and expenditures, and ensure that all
disbursements are in accordance with budgetary allotments. The Division handles the
accounting operation of the Institute including the recording of financial transactions,
preparation and processing of disbursements vouchers, and the preparation of the required
financial reports.
